Proposed Improvement No.1
After a Sustain Opening Bid, Partner shows their Trump support, and then the Opener starts the Sustain Honour Convention. If Partner shows an Ace in which Opener is void, unless Partner had shown a possible Trump Entry with their first bid, the extra trick cannot be relied on, and Opener runs off to their Sustain suit at the appropriate level. This is shown in Sustain Opening Bids – Example 6.
If the Opener can comfortably afford to continue, instead of next available bid (skipping Trumps if necessary), they jump an extra step (again avoiding Trumps) to again ask for Honours, but telling Partner not to rebid that suit with the King, to only bid another off-suit Ace (if held) or retreat to safety in Trumps.
