Unprecedented support has come for the re-introduction of Sustain Initiation Responses over 1♣ Opening bids. My Partner expressed their concern at their removal at the time, and has since been proved right. It was even suggested I had been unfaithful to my original intentions – to help a computer bid like a person. So, Version 1.1 will reinstate them, and make such changes as necessary to the 1♣ Opening Bid.

The required changes to 1♣ Opening bid will affect the current Major Jump Responses of 2♥ and 2♠ (10-15 HCPs, 6+-card suit). These have to go, to make room for the Sustain Initiation Response. These will either be ditched, or perhaps the Jump Response bid will be higher (i.e. 3♥ and 3♠) and the range has been further tightened (13-15 HCPs). We’ll keep you informed.
